Pros

Working with mostly great people and feeling like part of a family. Most of the people working at Noble really care about the goal of the network and helping kids. Competitive pay and decent benefits.

Cons

The network expanded to quickly, opening too many schools at once. This not only caused a number of growing pains, but also turned it into a place with more of a "corporate" atmosphere than what it was 5 years ago. Some of the senior management cares less about their employees and the Noble vision than their own careers.

Pros

Lots and lots of free t-shirts, which is something.

Cons

Admin/network has no idea what is actually going on in their schools, or if they do, they don't care enough to address it. Prepare for 3 hour meetings straight out of your intro to pedagogy courses led by people who got out of the classroom as soon as they could or an overpriced Ed "consultant." Insane turnover. The kids I teach have had 4 different math teachers this year, and it's only January.

Pros

The students and community with some of the staff.

Cons

When I first started working here a lot of harmful practices were in place, but the next year changes were being made. After Covid all of the racist and harmful practices came back. When teachers spoke up we were ignored, they just hired leaders and people who either didn't care about those things or aligned to the former way of thinking, Teachers aren't consulted about things that will affect their way, what they do is perform a conversation of listening. It is hard to get promoted and leadership doesn't take in consideration the way teachers want to grow in the school - they appoint and hire who they want - sometime not even posting a role. After working here for many years, seeing and advocating for mental resources for students, black and brown solidarity work, proper treatment of students and families, the only thing that changed was my health. I quit to stay alive. The year I left 10+ staff members left and it wasn't even spring break yet. Parents need to keep an eye on the working of this network, there are many opportunities for you to sue them for negligence. They bank on your ignorance, so bank with theirs. Leadership ignored my complaints of harassment.
