Pros

Trunk Club provides a nice, casual environment. There's always music playing, everyone is relatively young, and there's a bar where you can drink with clients.

Cons

Nordstrom now owns Trunk Club, and the comp plan reflects that. It becomes more and more difficult to make any money. You're expected to work 60 hours a week selling clothes (a job a 16-year-old could do). They promote a flexible schedule but guilt you every time you try and work from home, take vacation days, etc. It's run like a sorority and management is a nightmare. Some higher-ups routinely have inappropriate relationships with stylists. It's a great job if you're fresh out of college and don't plan on sticking around after a year, any more than that and you're just wasting your time.

Pros

It is perfectly acceptable to collect a paycheck and do absolutely nothing. I guess that is a pro to some people.

Cons

The majority of the engineering group is collecting a paycheck and doing absolutely nothing. The engineering group is in disrepair. Far to many people, far to many policies and politics. HR protects lazy people, no clear leadership, the technology is horrific, outside of a few select groups the quality is embarrassing. I would encourage anyone considering working there to spend 30 minutes on the website. What you see is an accurate representation of the engineering group. This is a place where you can retire at 30.

Pros

Norstrom is a well established company and could potentially be a wonderful place to work...if you get in the right department and work with nice people.

Cons

Some of the people you work with can be very challenging people to work with. I still have PTSD from some experiences I had with my boss and two coworkers. They told me that I would, "never move up", "never be a designer", and sorry but, you will never achieve your goals". I even had two degrees in design from F.I.T and another accredited university, plus previous design experience. They tried to put me down and use mind games to feel superior and get themselves ahead. They crushed my spirit, drive and joy of designing.
