      Pros

      I love the fashion that I find at my Nordstrom. I love the people that work around me. I like most of the customers and feel extremely rewarded by my job when I have had a busy day and I leave customers exptremely satisfied.

      Cons

      There is a dissonance between the associates and management. There is no "family" feeling here. There are no meetings to make sure everyone is on the same page. In fact, as an associate, I am not even really sure who the manager on duty is...I rarely know their name and they are rarely willing to help. I feel the anonymous management really stands in the way of making the department store flourish as a single unit.

      pay is better then most places in retail, discount is nice, the customers are generally friendly

      Cons

      work can get repetitive, some customers can be extremely difficult and use nordstrom's customer service reputation to get their way

      discount flexible schedule ability to make a lot of money if strong salesperson

      Cons

      to get promoted you have to be willing to live anywhere in USA promotions are not based on merit & ability it is based on SPH & friendships w/i store ther is no one for employees to talk to about issues or problems (HR is rude & unavailable) it should be non-sell for the employees when the store is closed.
