Sales Associate (Hired holiday season of 2014)
Pros
-Discount (20%) -Higher than minimum wage starting wage (& increases every 1000th hour hit) -Paid time off -Almost always something to do -Getting paid $5 on the spot for opened or attempted rewards -Recognition for hard work (depends on management though) -The company really does seem (most of the time, anyway) to care about its employees
Cons
I hate to say it, but, nepotism is definitely still a factor at my location at Riverside Plaza. There is also gossip, but I suppose you'll encounter that almost anywhere you decide to work. Most people here are a joy to work with, but those that aren't can definitely be grating and draining. I've had a few negative experiences (aside from customer interaction which the company obviously can't control 100%) where I've been talked to with little or no respect by a department manager, and I felt I couldn't go to anyone because that manager likely would have found out it was me who spoke up. Hours can be somewhat erratic, but that's not a surprise in retail.
