Pros

NAB has incredible people! They are extremely willing to help whether it is via chat, email, face-to-face, or phone call. As almost the entire workforce is now remote, NAB didn't miss a beat when it came to making sure that folks had resources available to them to do their job well from. home. They are constantly encouraging teams to collaborate and do fun activities. They are PRESSING people to make sure that they take care of themselves by use of PTO time, wellness incentives and challenges, one-on-one meetings, and group meetings. I have yet to encounter a single person at NAB that when asked a question didn't try their hardest to find the answer for you. If they didn't have it, they always knew who to get you to and happily and voluntarily offered the information freely. It's not like that at many organizations. Sometimes you ask a question and it will just sit there unanswered with little to no attempt at resolving it. The management is relaxed for the most part and extremely understanding. When you take the initiative to openly speak to them, they listen with sympatheic and empathetic hearts. They offered an abundance of resources to the company during two tragic moments of grieving in the company. They constantly keep the entire organization abreast of trends, projects, and what is soon to come. I absolutely adore working for NAB and the relationships that I have made here.

Cons

While our company has improved on openly communicating, I would say that over communication is better then none. There have been some moments where projects took off and were implemented and no one really knew about them until the impacts of said project were felt down the chain. If you don't like change - this is not the company for you! Things move quickly - this could be a positive for some, but others may view it as a negative.

GREAT subject line and even better five-star rating, thank you! While your feedback was positive, I appreciate the balance of Pro's and Con's. I agree with you that our team members are talented, helpful and friendly. I have had many situations over the past year, during COVID especially, with issues that would have been daunting to solve on my own, but everyone I reached out to for advice or assistance jumped in with both feet and the result was always positive. I appreciate your feedback on the communications. I love where we have taken our internal communications during the pandemic but we can always do more. There is a strong relationship between our internal communications team and our marketing team so expect to see more and different types of communication going forward. Finally, I always value any "advice to management" and I would be less than honest if I said I have not heard this feedback before. I strongly believe that there is no negative intent when communication around new and ongoing projects is less than ideal. I do believe that we are all moving so fast, sometimes the communication or updates are either forgotten or they lag the activity. Not an excuse, just an explanation. I will be sure to share this feedback with Jim Parkinson, Kirk Haggarty and David Greenberg to highten awareness of the issue and brainstorm ways we can make this situation better. Thank you again for your feedback, we are grateful.

Work-life balance can get lost in the fog a bit We often find ourselves doing the work of multiple people due to hiring freezes that we haven't staffed properly from We could use more career pathing organization.

I had to smile when I read your tag line, so thank you for that. I am beyond pleased that you are currently enjoying your work experience at NAB. I have such great respect for our IT Engineers, you are the "secret sauce" at NAB and we are all grateful for the time, effort and energy our IT Engineering team puts into ensuring we are innovative and forward thinking as a company. I appreciate your mention of flexible work schedules and the ability to work remotely as your "Pro" items. Our senior executive team has worked very hard through out the pandemic to ensure every team member was safe, healthy and productive...in that order. When you have those priorities, flexibility and remote work just make sense. As far as your "con's" are concerned...I have to agree with you there. We have not done a very good job with career pathing in the past and I am happy to say that this is now a key priority for us to improve. We are currently working with our top leaders to identify key successors and high potential talent to begin INTENTIONALLY developing, stretching and promoting talent within NAB and across our many entities. We have a ton of very talented, motivated team members at NAB and we want to do all we can to maximize that talent. If you have any personal concerns around your own development or career path I encourage you to speak to your direct leader or your HR Business Partner, sometimes an open conversation is all you need to get the process started. Again, thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback, we appreciate your input as we strive to continuously improve.

There was a big divide between dev and ops, both wanted to do great things but neither wanted to talk to the other.

We appreciate your feedback, thank you for taking the time to post. I am so pleased that you listed people, facilities and flexibilty as "Pro's" for working at NAB. I see that you worked at our Troy facility which is beautiful...but its the people that make NAB a truly great place to work. Thank you for that! As far as your "Con" is concerned, I reached out to Jim Parkinson for help in addressing your concern. I am sure you know Jim, our CXO, and his response is listed here: " Historically in engineering and operations, all companies have had to deal with this problem. At NAB, we have closed this gap, and we continue to close the gap every day. In complex systems that need to be up 100% of the time, there must be communication between the people who build our services and the folks that run them. This is an equal and critical partnership. The IT and Engineering leadership teams are committed to closing that gap; if any team member feels that it is not closing, we encourage them to please work with their leader to ensure that communications are happening. I also tell our teams, "If you hit a roadblock, come to me directly." I am 100% sure you will find that the entire leadership team wants to continuously improve and will respond positively to those communications. Thank you." - Jim Parkinson CxO
