Pros

Nice location, great building, lotsa free munchies, great fellow workers trying their hardest to make a go of this company.

Cons

Totally incompetent IS middle and upper management. Software QA manager a total joke. Has not idea what's going on in his own department, just likes playing politics. No direction and recognition, just a pink slip when "someone doesn't like someone" no assistance to improve. No recognition for achievement. Lots of finger pointing and blame game, no rewards for going "above and beyond" to satisfy customers, so you learn real fast not to in this job. Why do they promote incompetents to management? Don't ever consult with actual workers and job achievers. Communication is strictly one-way, down the silo. Few software testers who know what they are doing soon leave for better jobs, more pay and recognition. Owner likes to play with interior decorating and workstations, no clue as to what technical professionals NEED for good work environment. Too noisy and too many interruptions and distractions in latest "re-design" of work environment, which severely impacts productivity, especially in Agile environment which they say they want to install, but everyone in management ignores under pressure to "get the apps out" No organization in company to help out the call center people deal with the technology forced to use, one guy JUST ONE GUY in entire IS dept. who is willing to help them, and he is routinely ignored (clueless manager) for input, again this severely impacts productivity.

Pros

The building is amazing and well done.

Cons

Insurance is terrible. Pay is well under market. Everyone is expected to be loyal, yet they are not. The entire company is based of who can point fingers the best. Nearly all senior management is bad at their job.

Pros

Pay is good comparatively to competitors.

Cons

They don’t care about employees. I worked there for almost two years and during that time we lost five managers in the same department, we kept loosing analysts because they overwork you, and you are constantly on the phone being yelled at by customers instead of performing risk duties. I also reported two individuals: one for not doing their job on a daily basis (nothing was ever done) and then for a manager who kept harassing me and blaming me for an automated email he kept receiving by the system. Finally, they have no sense of a personal life. They constantly had you working 10 to 12 hours overtime (everyday) but it was ‘voluntary’. Luckily, I quit right in the knick of time because they changed from hourly to salary pay so they wouldn’t have to pay you for overtime.

While we never like to see a one-star posting, we do appreciate your feedback. I was able to collaborate with our Enterprise Risk Management Leadership and while they were aware of your situation, they shared there were misperceptions in your review. We respect your personal perspective and do not wish to debate in this forum so, even though you are no longer employed at NAB, I sincerely encourage you to reach out to me personally to discuss your concerns at any time. That being said, there is one point I am compelled to shed insight on, and that is your statement that we changed from hourly to salaried pay so we wouldn't have to pay overtime. You may not know this, but when changing an employee's classification from non-exempt to exempt, employers like NAB first make sure the duties and responsibilities of the position meets all applicable exemption criteria. This is such a critical process that we engaged Lockton Consulting to evaluate, benchmark and make the appropriate recommendation applying both Federal and State tests. If there is any doubt as to whether the position qualifies for exemption, it should remain classified as non-exempt. In this case, it was clear that the position was exempt, so we made the appropriate changes after communicating with the team. The feedback we have received from other team members about this change has been overwhelmingly positive as it also allows these team members to participate in our annual bonus pool and flexible PTO benefit which was not available for these positions before. Again, we are happy to speak to you in more detail if desired, thank you.
