Pros

The free unlimited beverages, and beer fridge.

Cons

First off. All the great raving reviews are written by the Marketing team or the Executive teams. Also any negative review they will not address the underlining issue which is the management. They would rather point fingers at the lower level employees as the cause of all there problems. One, would be the fact that the turn over rate here is on par with a fast food chain. Every six months they go through a firing spree and basically clean house of all the employees they don't like. If you love to people please, and stab your co-workers in the back, then you'll make it here. If not, then in six months or less you'll find yourself unemployed. Second. They rolled out last month a new policy stating that they will not allow PTO cash out at the end of the year. Giving employees no option but to lose it or use it. Mind you this policy had been decided and approved upon in July, but they gave no notice till the end of September to there employees. (The Executive Management knew, but they decided to not tell anyone) Thirdly. If you ever have any issues of harassment or a co-worker making you feel uncomfortable they will not keep your written complaint confidential. You will instead be mocked, laughed at, and the issue pushed aside. Along with them often turning the complaint against you. This is not a safe workplace for women at all. You really have no need to try to seek employment here. They will honeycomb everything until you figure out they are feeding you venom. You can not trust anyone there. The only interest they have in mind is there paycheck, and will use you until you have nothing more to give. Also most everyone there in Accounting works nights, weekends, and early mornings. It is expected, and if you do not, then you can count yourself fired. No family work balance. They expect you to come in sick, and miss everything in order to keep a job there. They will never take responsibility for there actions, and will use you as sacrifice if needed. If you don't have a Master's degree or higher from a fancy college they will not promote or move you up. They are heavy into degrees than they are on character, and it shows with anyone in a office.

Pros

NONE. There is not one thing that this company does well.

Cons

Their HR practices borderline on illegal activity. I knew my position was being eliminated (they bought out my company) so I opted out of the 401k since I knew I would only be there for a short time. Imagine my surprise when they went against my wishes and started deducting 401k funds from my paycheck. In the 15 months I worked there they did not process a single payroll correctly. They would pay employees incorrectly or payroll deduct for benefits that the employee did not sign up to receive. I caught them adding taxable gross wages to employees without giving them the net payroll for those wages. How is that legal? I caught them sending out incorrect W-2's at year end. The Corporate office would argue with me when I brought up these errors and if it wasn't for my persistence they would not have corrected them. They would also not send in your 401k deferrals or match for months. When they finally did get around to submitting those funds most times it would be for incorrect amounts.

Thank you for taking the time to review NorthStar Anesthesia. Our 401k is audited annually and new payroll management was implemented in January 2016 to address some of the payroll issues we had been experiencing. We appreciate your feedback as it helps us improve as a company.

Pros

The hours are decent, promote a healthy eating lifestyle

Cons

The are too many politics within the Accounting Dept. They laid off all the senior accountants. They have questionable accounting practices. The management lacks experience.
