Inconsistent Business Practices

Pros

The free hot and cold beverages.

Cons

Overall lack of consistent application of solid and strategic business practices. Poor leadership in the Accounting, Payroll, Business Operations and Human Resources Departments. The management in these departments should be replaced with professionals that understand how to create policies and consistently apply business practices. There is no structured compensation program, ongoing payroll issues, no career advancement except for those who are favored by management, etc.

Pros

I do not have any positive feedback for the company. My co-workers were the best out there.

Cons

HR has very hardened employees to work with. Very difficult to get a response from them in a timely fashion.

Pros

Professional people working at corporate office, with a drive to provide anesthesia services better, at a better profit.

Cons

Profit driven and operating room centric with very little creative thinking for perioperative services or integration into hospital medical staff. Really not up to speed for large acute care complex hospitals with poor training of physician leaders. They select physician leaders who are energetic but don't encourage training, just to follow that party line. Corporate accounting is profit driven and has a difficult time working with physicians. Their customer is hospital administration and CRNA's, not physicians. Very physician unfriendly.

Thank you for your feedback. NorthStar has successfully transitioned more than 180 facilities to create better perioperative services. We have improved anesthesia services at surgery centers, small hospitals and large medical centers. Our leadership training for physicians focuses on core values, culture, team leader management, business management and medical practice management through NorthStar University. We market specifically to physicians and CRNAs, driving a culture of collaboration between anesthesiology, surgeons and administration.
