High base. Offers a product for patients that truly can help. Cost is usually not an issue for patients. Please do your research before joining. Ask about your ability as a TM to make independent decisions, to choose how to grow the business as you see fit, and the current KOL mentality towards the device in prospective territory.
Cons
Internal: Can be summed up in one sentence recently said by my manager, "You're mine from 8-5." You will be told the Territory Manager job is a "manager" level job by upper management. It's not. This is the most micromanaged sales role I have ever been in and all the managers (Regional Business Leads) have no prior experience in this type of leadership role. The sales goals are unrealistic and you will be relentlessly hounded by your manager and above to achieve them: in person, by phone, by text, and by email. It's all about the "scrip" (Rx) here. (I never want to hear the word "scrip" again, ever.) I am not comfortable with management's rules on who can be certified to use the device. All the leadership is from pharma and worked together previously. Groupthink prevails. Very little time off offered at this company and you will still receive emails and texts that you are expected to work on when you do take time off. External: Very little to no buy-in of the product by KOLs. Makes it very difficult to grow the business when key centers block therapy. Clinical trials are truly competition for the product.
