Pros

Depending on your division, you may work on bleeding-edge projects and technologies. Many of the non-senior managers are passionate about their work and their mission.

Cons

Very stuck in the mid 20th century from a cultural perspective. Many employees with long tenures are afraid of risk. Senior managers have successfully created silos in which duplicate projects and non-sharing of critical information is common. Very political environment with individuals who are adept communicators advancing even if their projects fail or are at risk of failure due to their lack of professional skills. In-fighting is common.
