Overall very good place to work just needs minor tweaking

Pros

Good environment, good perks, fun place to work, the flexibility of your schedule is a huge plus, the ability to work from home or where ever is a very helpful option

Cons

During the economic hardships sharing more of how the budget is being planned might be helpful in getting acceptance from the employees. Also it would be nice to have more clearly defined paths for employees to be able to advance.

OK, but a dying industry

Pros

Great work/life balance. Management is very supportive about letting people off for family things, as long as results are delivered. Cutting edge technology.

Cons

It's a dying industry. No one wants to talk about it, but everyone under 50 is looking over their shoulder thinking, how much long can we hold out? Management is doing the best they can, but there isn't much you can do when you sell buggy whips.

Pros

The mission (company objectives that support library and information sharing, which contribute to overall educational needs in society and culture). Pay is pretty good at most levels. Company keeps up with technological changes pretty well.

Cons

Recent emphasis on efficiency is understandable, but implementation of measures can be harsh. In some areas, the work environment has become hostile and demeaning in the interest of boosting performance and compliance. Layoffs are understandable, but the handling and communication methods can inspire more fear and stress than are maybe warranted.
