Pros

There are some great people in this company and i still remain friends with many of them. The product itself is absolutely the best in the marketplace but read the con's because these two positives do not outweigh the most toxic company I have ever worked at.

Cons

Management is awful and they manage by fear and intimidation. They are genuinely not nice people who do not care about you, your opinion or your professional development. In fact, if you express your opinion and it is against what management is doing, they have a long memory and will hold it against you or consider you an outsider for the rest of your tenure at ON24. To add to that, the HR Department is completely inept. They rarely get back to you if you have a question unless you follow up with at least 3 emails. I have honestly never had a response from HR within 48 hours.

Workplace Toxicity At Its Finest

Pros

• 100% remote role (sad this is the leading pro in 2022 when this is now considered a standard benefit) • Money was decent for title, however not that great compared to other tech companies. • Stock options and price at time of hiring was good and felt like a value add; went downhill quickly from then and basically is worthless now and not enough to stay in the toxic environment for even a year to partially vest.

Cons

• Toxic work environment from top down at and across the C-Suite / VP / Director levels; thankful I never had to personally interact with CEO who was known to scream at employees without regard. When I say toxic, I mean self-proclaimed micro-managers, passive aggressiveness at VP / Director level, in-fighting between senior leadership, and no accountability across the board. • Being remote you’d think you have flexibility for work/life balance and a semblance of control over your day, but being overscheduled meeting after meeting after meeting because leadership doesn’t trust their employees and are afraid of CEO makes that impossible. And then after hours meetings are scheduled to accommodate Senior Leadership’s calendar and then they no show with no notice and no acknowledgement of ghosting the meeting. • Sr. Leadership has a weird worship of the CEO yet is so afraid of CEO’s rage that they schedule several meetings to plan for one CEO meeting and then have multiple recap meetings post-CEO meeting. Nothing gets accomplished. • No strategic direction or any planning for that matter; highly panicky reactive approach to everything and CEO / Sr. Leadership’s ‘vision’ changes on a whim sometimes on a daily or hourly basis. • Company leadership seriously believes their dated product offering is an ‘industry leader’ and they rode the pandemic wave when everyone needed a webinar platform and they were one of the only offerings initially, however once competition entered the game, ON24 was and still is slow to catch up and remains stuck in 1998. Feels a bit cultish with longtime employees who are drinking the Kool-Aid. • Benefits and PTO are a joke; $500 a year from company for 401K - might as well not offer anything. • Should have listened to my gut when hiring manager was a literal and figurative mess during virtual interview and then didn’t trust that I could handle follow up interview with C-Suite; once hired, I realized this stemmed from her own insecurity and inability to execute a role and department that she was wholly unqualified to lead.

Dysfunction!

Pros

Really great people Really great product

Cons

Really poor Executive Leadership CEO manages by fear and is proud of it CEO does not empower his executive team to be successful CEO has an ego that is working toward the demise of ON24 I worked for ON24 for a number of years and was let go recently in the latest round of company lay-offs....stuff happens and I understand. I received a package that was fair so no complaints and after contemplating the job loss, I looked back on the company to realize it is dysfunctional and I was living and contributing to the dysfunction for some many years by not saying anything. How does a company survive with a leader (CEO) who can not communicate well, who has no direction or a clue on how to move forward, who thinks the way to get results from his team is to scare the hell out of them. I've never met a more egotistical person that would allow such high turn over continue in his/her company without taking a step back to assess what is going on. If you are considering this company, I encourage you pause, really interview the team, ask the hard questions, read the GD posting and make an informed decision. Some have achieved great success with ON24 and have had great experiences, but it was in-spite of the CEO's issues
