Pros

- You can work from home (you might have to as they closed several offices across the UK)

Cons

- Extremely overcapacity workforce, burnout among colleagues is the norm - New colleagues to the business or to the client account will regularly get thrown into the deep end and I do not think the company is managed in a way that promotes a safe learning environment as existing team members do not have the time to properly invest in onboarding new colleagues - Overtime is the norm, which is not rewarded in a meaningful way (the most recognition will be a shout out in the company newsletter, easily ignored) - Seniors will put more junior colleagues in the firing line - A lot of people made redundant through 2023, no recruitment to match the growing project workload and no promotions/pay rises; quite top heavy in some areas of the business with a lot of senior people who sit in meetings, but not enough junior or middle roles to do the actual work - Extremely out of touch senior leadership - You can voice your concerns about work life balance and overworking to your line manager and more senior managers all you want, but nothing will change in a sensible time frame (if at all)

Thank you for your feedback, we are a little surprised about the comment about the offices. We closed under utilised offices in locations that no longer made sense for OPEN Health but we have great offices in London, Oxford and Manchester and encourage our people to visit those when they can. We will always encourage our people to learn quickly and take advantage of the experiences of others around them. That said, we do want to nurture learning and so if we are not quite hitting the mark please do share specific examples so we can improve.

Pros

I had a lovely manager and team and worked with lots of amazing and talented people across many departments

Cons

Definitely hard work life balance, long hours, extremely high workload and no option for overtime Disagreed with the restructure which made people in junior roles redundant yet hires lots of people in senior roles. The company felt extremely top heavy leaving very little junior colleagues to complete the work. A senior member of the executive team made it clear that they felt my role was manageable despite multiple people in my role saying something different, yet they were happy to onboard people in senior roles who don’t contribute towards the bulk of the work. Rarely felt valued Communication from the senior team around promotions was poorly managed General communication about onboarding these senior members if staff left a bad taste as it felt they got rid of people to make room for senior members of staff that worked with before rather then promoting people Diversity within the senior and executive team is disappointing CEO is not PR trained and often comes across offensive and out of touch

Thank you for your comments, it is always great to hear when people enjoy working for their line manager and with their teams. This is what great team collaboration is all about. We nurture a hybrid culture, enabling our teams to get a blend in the ways of working that resonate best for them. This allows for peaks and troughs in hours worked by allowing individuals to also work around family commitments. Clearly if the balance is out of kilter you should discuss this with your Line Manager. We recognise that we need to improve our methods of communication and have now put leadership forum's in place and town halls in which we share business updates.
