Pros

Lots of opportunities for overtime if needed.

Cons

Management does not listen. Outside experience is not welcomed because they rather do things "the way it's always been done." Must be "liked" to get opportunities to advance. Performance based raises and clinical ladder are a scam and designed for you to fail--extra work does not translate into anything truly beneficial. Nurses are overworked and the pay is terrible. You're expected to put in all the doctors orders and are faulted if something is missed, and the doctor did not put in their own orders even when asked. Management does not back you, and you are thrown under the bus regularly.

Pros

Great benefits. LGH offers great vacation and insurance. Recent merging with Ochsner Health may change that in the future.

Cons

They severely underpay their employees in Health Information Management. They only care about the money, not about patient care or safety.
