      Pros

      Customer service truly matters. Supervisors that care about you and your growth with the company. The newer stores look great. Company going in the right merchandising direction. It is great to see customers leave the store happy.

      Cons

      Would like to see some additional hours for training.

      Pros

      Office Depot is a great place to work. I've been with the company for 11 years and have seen it's evolution from being fragmented with multiple brand flags, no organized strategy globally and systems that picked up from previous acquisitions. Today this company is connected and synchronized, global in scope and strategy and we carry one brand flag - Office Depot. We have both the ability and the will to win, possess the talent to build a solid strategy and are currently building momentum to grow and take market share.

      Cons

      Where we still have work to do is solid, deliberate execution. Whether that execution is a marketing campaign that competes and attracts attention back to the brand or the decisions needed to move forward, executives have been guilty of second guessing. We need to unify our strategic thinking and have the balls and the brains to go after the jugular of our competitors.

      Its easy to criticize when times are tough.

      Pros

      Of my 12 years at OD, the company has always been committed to the employees and more importantly the customer. Its too easy for faceless people to criticize a company just based on stock price. There are so many factors that affect the health of a company, and most are beyond the companies control. I have always felt valued and that my efforts are valued and rewarded. Spend some quality time in a store, talk to the staff, and you will see what I mean.

      Cons

      Is there room for improvement? Absolutely, but I feel the company knows what those opportunities are and is committed to that improvement. Are there bad employees, stores, and managers? Sure, but again the company faces those issues, doesnt try to hide them, and is active to address them.
