Worst place I have ever worked in my life -- Yes, really.

Pros

Location is good -- on Michigan avenue and centrally located.

Cons

The people I worked with here were just plain mean. Sexual Harassment was rampant and nothing was done about it. HR was a joke. At best it was an extremely boring place. I have worked at a few different companies -- this was by far the worst ever -- a living hell. Keep your sanity and stay away from this place!!!

Pros

Work peers are friendly and helpful. If you want just a 8am to 5pm job and are able to be completely obedient and not ask any questions, this could be a good place to work. However, do not expect to get any training on products and services offered.

Cons

I was 20 years older than any of the other employees in the department. I met with my supervisor for a total of 2 hours in three weeks time. In the course of that time, that person was out of the office on personal business for a significant amount of time. There was no departmental training offered. After two weeks, I was told that I did not fit in with no explanation or understanding of what that meant. No feedback from supervisor as I did the work. Do not ask questions. Do not provide ideas on how to improve the process. Tons of Process Manuals that are out of date because of restructuring, but you are told to follow the process manual instructions even though they are out of date. My peers feared my supervisor. Not a word would be said when the supervisor was in the office. The president is the ultimate decision maker in everything - even dictating where to place a staple on a report.

Pros

Well, they pay you. Not much, but they do pay you.

Cons

Lousy benefits, NO 401k MATCH!!!!!, a tiny amount of sick leave that you'll burn through if you catch one cold, low salaries, no work-from-home opportunities, a group of dinosaurs at the helm, regular memos insisting that you donate to particular charities, and a good-old-boy atmosphere that's just shocking in the 21st century (ladies, you're not allowed to bare your arms or toes or wear that cute jean jacket, but you'll pass twenty men a day in the halls that are dressed like slobs). One woman on the Board of Directors. Zero female executives. No interest--NONE--in employee satisfaction and development. No intranet. When I got the offer for my new job, I cried. That's how relieved I was to get out of here. Never have I worked with such nasty, punitive, MEAN people. If you're considering working here, it's fair to assume you're desperate. The culture will beat you down until you have no self-esteem, and your skills will rot because you'll never use them. You won't learn anything new, because there's no training; you won't get to know your co-workers, because there are no social events; you won't move up, because there are no career tracks. I can't believe I stayed as long as I did without screaming insanely at my desk.
