Thanks for writing about your experience working as an Omadan! I'm excited to hear that you have a positive outlook about the future of the company. HUGE thanks for contributing to our mission day in and day out- we couldn't influence our participants to make healthier choices without you and Omada's other amazing coaches. Furthermore, you're right. We need to emphasize helping the health coach team feel more connected to the rest of the company. Know that this will be a huge priority for Omada this year, and I would LOVE for you to keep us on our toes! If you have any ideas on how to make the remote employee experience better, please send them to our office experience team. I appreciate you touching on compensation as well. We use the same compensation philosophy for all company employees, and are launching health coach compensation reviews this month to ensure that all coaches are being paid as fairly as possible. Please reach out to our HR team with any questions on this! I appreciate the hard work that you and Omada's other health coaches put in, and am elated that you're working here.

Pros

Amazing leadership: Our founders are great people as well as extremely talented, and couldn't be prouder to work for them! Mission-driven: Feels good to be working on such a giant problem in today's world, and great to see the mission infuse into everyday life. Healthy lunch every day, running/biking clubs, and a deep respect for work/life balance. Supportive culture: Omadans look out for one another. There's a real feeling that we're pulling together toward the same goals.

Cons

Would be great to see more resources put toward growth & development for individuals...sometimes hard to figure out what your career path could look like in the long term.

Thanks for writing about your experience working at Omada! Agreed- we have an amazingly dedicated team, a supportive culture, and the drive to reduce the onset of chronic disease. We appreciate your feedback about individual career growth within the company. We’ve identified this as an opportunity for investment. As a result, we are taking the steps to help Omadans recognize their strengths, build upon areas for growth, and understand ways to advance their careers with us. This year, we implemented Omada Growth to provide an outlet for ongoing feedback between peers, managers and reports. We also launched the Omada Manager Exchange, a series of workshops to teach managers how to foster growth and leadership within their teams. Lastly, we rolled out a new company-wide leveling system to help clarify and identify what each Omadan needs to do to get to the next level.

Pros

Great health coaches-- very knowledgeable and supportive of peers, lots of schedule flexibility and autonomy

Cons

Very little upward mobility for remote health coaches, poor communication from health coach managers, Never received any kind of feedback (positive or negative) about job performance, Very little recognition for contribution to the company, Remote health coach performance rated on metrics of which health coaches were not aware. Upper Health Coach management fairly secretive about company status.

It sounds like you had a frustrating experience understanding what you were doing well and what you could improve upon as a Health Coach. In efforts to improve feedback between managers and their direct reports, we recently implemented a performance management program for coaches. Before implementing this, managers and coaches collaborated to develop key performance metrics. With this program, our goal is to ensure that health coaches understand the opportunities for growth within the team, the metrics used to evaluate their performance and the ways in which they can provide and receive feedback from managers and peers alike. In terms of your point of view that upper management is secretive, quite the contrary, transparency is one of our core values. As part of our practice to be transparent, we take extra care to use the proper channels to communicate sensitive company-confidential information. Additionally, we often reiterate the need for our employees to honor confidentiality guidelines. While this may come across as being secretive, we believe it’s what we need to do to serve the best interest of the company. Thanks for writing, and best of luck on your future endeavors.
