Pros

Excellent benefits is about all this company has going for it

Cons

Trainers were not actually trainers but just analysts. No people skills and thought they were something, big egos in a company that purport not to have egos. Others would walk over you and were unhelpful, each person for themselves, company values are a laugh when nobody stands by them

Firstly, thank you for your review. I am glad to see that you perceive OSV’s commitment to our team members through the offering we provide around benefits. We feel that it is important to make sure our team has the proper balance of work and personal life. I am truly sorry to hear that you think there are big egos that exist in the EMEA region. We encourage all of our team members to demonstrate their strengths and potentially that could be perceived in a negative way. We will take that into account as we continue to build and develop our teams. It also troubles me to hear that you perceive your previous colleagues to be unhelpful. As part of our newly implemented strategy for growth, we have carefully built in collaboration points to ensure that everyone has the level of support needed to excel in their role. I personally love the quote that you provided in your bit of advice. Interestingly enough, all organisations have wheat and chaff and clearly the wheat usually tends to be more valuable. I would respectfully disagree with you that it’s mostly chaff as we have clearly attracted talent to OSV (wheat). Our goal is to figure out how to make the chaff more valuable. I regret that you did not stick around to enjoy the output of a great crop.

Pros

I didn’t find one pro whilst working at Onesource Virtual. Anything that the company once stood for, has now disappeared.

Cons

Horrible atmosphere Unrealistic targets Over worked under severe pressure. Expectation to work well above european working hours dirctive, this right is waved when signing contract. Not enough staff to maintain workload, things are at boiling point. Some of the leadership were questionable appointments, by everyone and now it is starting to tell. The original soul of the company is now gone, trying to be big corporate, and have removed all the original founders from positions of power.

Thank you for your willingness to share your views on OSV. This information along with the information that you recently provided us on your exit interview helps us focus on one of our key strategic initiatives this year which is “Be the Employer of Choice”. While it is never easy to hear harsh words, it drives us to continually inspect our ways of working and look for further improvement and refinement. I’d like to specifically address some of the points you raised. First of all, our targets for utilisation are quite in line with industry standards and similar to many of the partners in the Workday ecosystem. It is common for many companies in a high growth mode like ours to experience extremely busy periods that at times requires additional effort, and which is honoured with flexible working wherever possible. We are mindful of our employees’ work life and balance and thus continue to add new team members on a regular basis. In fact, we have had over 20 people join our organisation (mostly in professional services) in the first quarter of 2018. To the point you raise about a forced waiver under the working time directive - we observe all legal requirements in our respective locations and those requirements include the choice for the employee to opt in or out of the working time directive arrangements. I’d like to address your comment about the leadership and the “lack of the original soul” in the company. OSV has always been a very entrepreneurial organisation and the recent changes we have made both in region and globally allow for our team members to better offer their perspective and input. We hold regular round table discussions, provide ongoing feedback surveys and even monthly huddles in our locations to gain insight and suggestions from our teams. As a result, we have made many positive changes. As a note, our original founders have not been removed from “positions of power”, but now operate in even more strategic roles on our board to help guide OSV into the next generation. I am truly sorry if your experience over nearly the past three years has not been as positive as you hoped. We wish you the best in your future roles and hope that the technical and business training and experience you have gained from us will help you to be successful!
