Pros

None.. its hire and fire.

Cons

My time at OneTrust has been disappointing, primarily due to several key issues within the organization. Firstly, the management structure is chaotic, with frequent changes in leadership leading to confusion and lack of direction. Managers often seem disconnected from the work being done, and feedback is virtually non-existent. Moreover, the lack of growth opportunities is disheartening, as the team is consistently overburdened with production support tasks, leaving little room for professional development. Additionally, the company has a history of periodic mass layoffs, creating a sense of instability among employees. Furthermore, the recent shift away from remote work to mandatory office attendance adds to the frustration. They hire you with inflated salaries and then fire you. Manager even compared salaries, further exacerbating the sense of unfairness and inequity within the organization. Overall, my experience at OneTrust has been marred by poor management, limited growth opportunities and periodic layoffs.

Thanks for taking the time to share your perspective. OneTrust started only 8 short years ago. We started as the pioneers in data privacy, and over the past couple of years, we've taken a step back to figure out the right way to deliver solutions to all the toughest challenges in the Trust landscape - even problems that don't exist yet. We have since begun scaling and building out our teams so that we can build usable, lovable product and mature to an enterprise organization with long-term success. This is a natural trajectory for successful tech companies like OneTrust. We acknowledge that our strategy changes over time, and our leadership team continues to grow, and that's because the Trust landscape is rapidly evolving. We owe it to our 14,000+ customers to have the right people in the room to develop, sell, and support best-in-class software. This dynamic environment where no two days are the same provides a ton of learning opportunities for a our people. We acknowledge that OneTrust is not the right workplace for everyone. To thrive here, you have to thrive in ambiguity and be stewards of your own work and growth. Our decision to bring people back to the office in a limited capacity is that we are intentional about the culture we're creating here. This includes bringing teams together in-person, throughout the year, to collaborate, build connections, learn from each other, and celebrate our wins to Finish Stronger. Additionally, we have a talented Compensation team that performs an annual pay review cycle that occurs at the beginning of each fiscal year. The purpose of the review process is to review employee compensation to ensure relative compensation that is fair and competitive. Like many companies, we regularly evaluate our organizational needs to best serve our customers and to position the company for long-term success. We acknowledge the contributions of those that have been part of the OneTrust team and wish them the very best in their future endeavors.

Pros

There are no pros working at this company

Cons

Have been working here for 2 years and its been one hoop after another. The problems started awhile ago when the RIF occurred and they laid off alot of people, since there have been so many re-org changes. People have gone through 4-5 different managers. There were no raises given this year and if there were it was like 2% even for the most hardest working employees. We were promised higher raises since we are all under paid and work to our bones. Every here wears so many different hats and not compensated or appreciated it for. New Execs get hired every week or 2 weeks but Onetrust they don't have enough money to pay their employees who are overworked. Alot of the roles don't get filled or if they do the roles are filled in Spain so they have to pay people less. No one in sales knows what they are doing to the point we are selling products that are broken. This company has affected my mental health more than I like to admit, having to be expected to learn new products and demo in a days time with little to no training. Everyone is overworked and under appreciated with little to no training. When quotas aren't met, managers threaten AEs to ensure the numbers are being closed. All the managers are micro managers even though they don't what they are doing! They let go of people without proper reasons as well as they lay off people just enough people to not report it to the rest of the org. This company is the worst tech company I have worked for with no light at the end of the tunnel because of the market and Onetrust knows that and uses it to their advantage

Thank you for taking the time to share your perspective. It's disappointing to see you haven't enjoyed your time at OneTrust. We appreciate your feedback, as OneTrust values all its employees' ideas and experiences. Our leaders made some tough decisions last year. We acknowledge this catapulted a huge culture shift, and we have actively worked to refresh our culture ever since. Our People team introduced new company values to serve as a north star for how we show up at work. They also introduced an annual and mid-year performance review process where managers can recommend promotions for their people, and they re-introduced our annual merit increases and bonus programs which are determined by company and individual performance. OneTrust also rolled out quarterly Values Spotlight Awards which recognizes teams across the company for exemplifying our values in their work. Each team was given a monetary prize to promote team building. We also held our first-ever Hackathon event this summer where employees applied their knowledge to real market, customer, and internal challenges to create solutions the business can use. All 2000+ employees in the company were invited to participate, and the top four teams were rewarded with a monetary prize as well. The People team has also committed to quarterly employee engagement surveys. The first two rounds have shown that we still have some work to do, but we have shown tons of progress and overall, our employees think OneTrust is a great a place to work. OneTrust isn't the same company it was when it first started in 2016, and that means we can't operate the same way either. We've started to scale and go down the road to mature as an organization, and there's tons of meaningful, exciting work ahead of all of us, including our Sales team. Our first-mover advantage established us as a powerhouse in the privacy space, and our talented Sales professionals have helped us get to 14,000 customers and growing with our shift from product to platform. We reached record ARR in ground-breaking time, and we still have only scratched the surface with a giant TAM and IPO-readiness on the horizon. With all the change OneTrust has experienced, we've undergone a lot of growth too. We are intentional and thoughtful when we hire, and we're becoming a more sophisticated enterprise every day. We understand that some people may thrive better in the old OneTrust environment, and that's okay. We can't wait to see what the future holds for OneTrust as we provide solutions to help build trust around the world.
