Overall, I really liked my time at OneTrust. The 1000 person layoff of June 2022 was a huge turn off. I feel like I was sold a dream that was not reality. As employees, the wool was pulled over our eyes all the time. Communication was a huge problem. We were always kept in the dark and everyone seemed to be scrambling to find answers. The most amazing people I’ve ever worked with were laid off with zero notice and it was honestly heartbreaking to watch. For a company that bases itself on trust - it is sad that they can’t be trusted after they showed their cards.

Everyone that got laid off during this second round was completely blindsided. After you hear in every meeting how great the company is doing, you start believing it. They even sent out emails about annual reviews that were coming up but it was all a lie. I think if anyone had even the slightest inkling that the company was struggling, maybe it wouldn't have been so much of a blow. When everything was happening, there were a ton of "rumors" and "whispers" like information wasn't going to get out. We are human. Everyone was on edge. Stressed. And when it was your turn, all you got was a script. Aside from the layoff, the experience that I had with upper management was that it left much to be desired. You have one person gate keeping processes and even money. Anyone else below that is just a puppet. Hopefully some were getting paid appropriately for that but not everyone is getting paid what they deserve. Overall, when you're there, you 'want' to drink the kool-aid. But now after all that has occurred and I see the other reviews, I see no one really did. It was all fake.
