Pros

Flexible Hours, sometimes too flexible. Free Soda, lots of free lunches Company is not afraid to throw money at almost anything if it seems fun

Cons

-Management is very insecure and won't delegate responsibility. -They say they are a technology company, but have nobody in management that understands the current landscape of technology. For some companies this is OK, but they won't let anyone below them have input on how to improve things. As a result the architecture is very fragile and suggestions are ignored. The technology running the system is 10 years old and no plans of changing. -Management cannot execute on a roadmap. As a result the most recent complaint always being the most important thing to work on and the features that could push the company forward rarely see the light of day -The codebase is extremely fragile and QA is insufficient so you are constantly firefighting. There is so little expertise on how the whole system works that you are stuck going to one person for answers. Most of the time it takes days to get an answer if you get one, and most of the time it is more of a best guess than the right answer because of how big the system has grown. -Politics and brown-nosing is extremely prevalent. It makes it very difficult to get things done.

Pros

- Free massages every two weeks. - Free lunch every Friday.

Cons

- Toxic and cutthroat environment. - Upper management is full of hypocrites, favoritism, and double standards. - No upward mobility in the company. - Training is non existent with a very sink or swim attitude. - No flexibility to work from home should you need to. - Manual processes with no desire to change. - An attitude of not worrying about known issues until something breaks or a customer gets screwed over. - The technology is ancient and will get passed over by competition in the next few years.

Not an ideal place to grow

Pros

Free soda, free back massages, fancy coffee machines. Many perks. (The perks seem to be compensating for something, rather than being there as awards).

Cons

The technology is extremely outdated, difficult to manage, test, and refactor. Trying to adapt a new technology to their backend has proved to be nearly impossible. Not many of the team understand the essentials of technology and well-managed code. A lot of the information shared was not well understood, so it made learning slow and sometimes backwards. It didn't seem like they were looking for educated software developers to do a software developer's job. Never could get any answers on questions about the system, as they all stemmed to one person, who hadn't developed the system for a number of years.
