Pros

I've been at Osano for a little over a month now, and I've never received as much freedom to make changes and implement strategies as I've had so far. They've been incredibly supportive, and whatever I need to create, implement, and measure the content strategy, they make sure I get it. The culture has been great so far.

Cons

There does seem to be a bit of a "video always-on" requirement for meetings. While I understand it -- especially since it helps prevent multitasking -- it can be emotionally draining re: mental health. I'll also say that you're left to your own devices quite a bit, which isn't a bad thing at all, but if you're not self-motivated, it might be difficult to bring tasks forward.

A Company That Has Figured Out Remote Work

Pros

This company was started as a remote-first company, and the founders put in a lot of effort to create an "operating system" that actually makes that work. Remote work isn't just about tools, check-ins, and team meetings. It's about the mindset and approach of the leaders. I've never felt so empowered yet supported by everyone from my manager to my direct team members. The culture is very curious, not judgemental. This leads to really open discussions with diverse perspectives that result in great ideas and actionable plans. The culture is also very family-first. Go to your son's fall festival, take time to see your parents, take a few days to help your sister move, step away to go pick up your kids. We all do it. Other pros include: - The company is on fire. It's in a rapidly growing space and we have the best product by far. - You get to work alongside people are who REALLY good at what they do. Sure, we're all still growing our crafts, but man have we hired some experts. - Everything is really well organized. From onboarding to IT requests, it's so well automated. - Transparent company OKRs help the company stay focused and aligned - Swag quality is top notch :)

Cons

- Osano is a fast-growing startup, so processes are constantly evolving, and goal posts move often. But if you view that as a con, you probably don't want to be at a startup.

Great team and interesting challenges

Pros

The team is small but everyone is incredibly motivated and good at what they do. The entire company is well versed in the products we make and there aren't a lot of redundant questions floating around, which is impressive. The entire company is remote so the culture is set up with this in mind and communication paths are very open/easy to accommodate.

Cons

The work can be complex due to the amount of changing regulations and priorities but the challenges have not felt unsurmountable and the team is well aligned.
