A mixed bag

Pros

The space is beautiful, the people are friendly and the amenities are nice. They give you multiple hats to wear because the depts are small, so it definitely pads your resume and gives you more ammo to use for your next job hunt.

Cons

There are a lot of good, hard workers, but they also make not so great managers. They focus on output quite a bit and there's this expectancy to over deliver, even though it's not within capacity. The pay is also below market here for jobs across the board. Especially in the mid tier positions. If you happen to be in the higher tiers, then you're well taken care of.

Failing work culture

Pros

- Autonomy depending on job - Take breaks (two allowed) when you want - can accrue good PTO after working here 10 years.

Cons

-No accountability on careless management destroying company culture. - underqualified and egotistical management (especially middle management) - dysfunctional almost non existent human resources. - super high turn over. Most employees are temps - no transparency on job progression or pay - low pay - horrible health insurance - no inventives - no idea sharing or innovation - absentee leaders ( especially executive level) - seems like the new business strategy for keeping costs low is to hire low pay accepting minorities. - education, qualification, experience not required to move up within company. Only need favoritism.

Pros

Coworkers were wonderful people. Location of the building (Domain) and parking garage. That's about it.

Cons

- Company tries to be modern & cutting edge, but is no where near caliber of the other technology oriented firms in Austin. Systems and processes are very outdated (many of which are from the time when the company was HQed in Minnesota) - Company wants you to feel like it's a "family," but there is a very top-heavy hierarchical structure. If you're not a director or above, you'll be left out on a lot of perks and information. - Absolutely no support for new hires. I was thrown on the job without a proper transition of roles & responsibilities. Not a place where you can ask questions, get feedback on your work, and management will help your grow.. either you perform what they need done without any mistakes or be axed. - If you disagree or have a different personality than your manager, you're in line to get written up for minor things and will eventually get terminated. HR only supports the managers & doesn't care to take action to resolve issues early on. Managers will be quick to sent out e-mails about all the negatives, but fail to recognize any of the positives you have brought to the role (small or large). - If you're going to try to compete in the Austin market, how are you not offering better pay, benefits, and simple options to be more efficient - such as the ability to "work from home." What a joke. - Kitchen is tiny, refrigerators are always crammed full (often hard to find space for your lunch), and the two-three bins of snacks are always the small old stuff that the company buys in bulk.
