Thanks for taking a moment to provide your feedback. We're glad to hear you’ve enjoyed some of the perks at OuterBox, as well as the training opportunities we offer. We put a lot of effort into creating an environment that supports both personal and professional growth. While no workplace is without its challenges, we strive to maintain high standards because we believe in our team’s potential. Our feedback process is intended to be constructive and supportive. We strongly encourage open and honest conversations with managers, especially when it comes to feedback, so we can continue to evolve our approach in a way that works best for everyone. Regarding turnover, we're proud to share that our current monthly retention rate is at 77% and our average teammate tenure is 4 years, reflecting the strength of our culture and our commitment to long-term growth. We’re committed to building a workplace where people can thrive, and we truly appreciate your input.

Absolutely Awful

Pros

Remote work, that's about it

Cons

Management is completely out of touch, and act as babysitters to those under them. Resources and spaces like office hours that are supposed to be used for updates and assistance on campaigns and any issues are instead spun around to place blame and scrutiny on the account managers/strategists. Everyone is always busy, and good luck trying to find a meeting time that works with everyone's schedule, especially when you need to include 3+ team members. Team members are intelligent, well-educated, and are very driven, yet they get let go and laid off at a high rate.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. While we’re glad to hear you valued the flexibility of remote work and the talent and dedication of the team you worked with, we want to address some of the concerns raised. Our leadership team is deeply invested in the success of both our teammates and the company as a whole. The regular check-ins, office hours, and performance discussions are intended to provide clarity and support and to drive accountability - both of which are essential in a high-performance environment. We also want to clarify that difficult decisions regarding staffing are never taken lightly. We believe in creating an environment where people are supported, challenged, and given real opportunities to grow. This includes performance management and ongoing feedback to help individuals succeed, as well as making thoughtful decisions when expectations aren't being met and/or when broader business needs require organizational changes. We're proud to share that our current monthly retention rate is at 77% and our involuntary turnover rate is below industry averages, reflecting the strength of our culture and commitment to long-term growth. At OuterBox, we hold ourselves to high standards because our clients—and our team—deserve nothing less. It’s a core part of our culture, and we're excited about where we’re headed.

Terrible Leadership

Business Outlook

Pros

You'll learn a lot quickly or of necessity. Most co-workers are great people.

Cons

Current leadership had no direction. Only room for advancement when good managers move on. Management does not care about bottom rung employees, zero incentive to be a good performer.

At OuterBox, we take team development and long-term retention seriously. While rapid learning is part of our fast-paced environment, it's not a substitute for structure, support, and clear career paths—areas where we’ve made significant, intentional investments. Earlier this year, we launched comprehensive career progression plans to provide transparency and direction for advancement across all roles. These are reinforced by monthly Sparring Day training sessions, designed to ensure every team member is actively growing in their role and adding strategic value to our clients. To further demonstrate our commitment, we also implemented a performance-based bonus program tied directly to client retention and teammate impact. Our focus on accountability extends to leadership as well—we’ve clearly defined our 3-year vision and 2025 objectives, and we review progress against those objectives openly in our monthly company-wide meetings. We’re proud of the direction we’re heading and remain focused on fostering a culture where people are empowered to succeed and stay.
