Lord help you if you're an introvert working here. They quickly turned service into all the worst parts of a school administration office. Seniors started doing things to other employees that tutors always complained about--evaluations based on things you were told would never happen and gaslighting you after. You were the problem. Constantly comparing you to their favorites, even though most of the favorites had NO idea what they were doing--they were just enthusiastic. One kid had never had a job an entire year in his life and was quickly promoted, despite being a terrible manager, more of a momager. We even had "book study." And if you're like my friends who asked what the hell book study is in a job, picture a crappy book club you are forcibly inducted into because "happy manager who has NO clue how to run a meeting is 'obsessed' with stuff" likes it. And then you have to talk about it. No one in senior management actually knows what they are doing. They make it up as they go along and get snippy with you when you ask a question--then, they get mad at you when you DO ask a question. You will get promoted (too) quickly if you're enthusiastic but it doesn't matter if you're not effective or have no really pedagogy background. Do yourself a favor if you insist on accepting an offer here: ask about total compensation versus base pay. Pssst--they go on a total compensation package, thus you're not really getting a pay bump in most cases... sometimes you're getting a decrease. For example, if they are offering you 50,000, that's total compensation, not pay. It includes your benefits. Your take home even before taxes is likely to be in the 30s.

The hours that you sign up for are not guaranteed. It can be slow during the summer but they do have programs to help with that.
