- 3 rounds of layoffs within less than 6mo in 2023 - They cut out an entire department (QA) and passed on that job and those responsibilities to the Engineers - They just cut a couple of eployee benefits; a learning stipend and RRSP/401k matching - They laid off all the people who built a certain core feature but it doesn't have enough documentation and no training/handover was done; This shows how little foresight management has - Company used to be good but now they're a sinking ship - With this company it's always "What next?" what negative thing can happen next? Warning: Stay far away from this unstable company

- There is absolutely no trust in leaders at this company. Some of them started as interns and have no experience in a real company - Huge amounts of money were squandered on lavish trips and too much staff. There was clearly very little foresight from senior leadership in building a successful company - The tutors are a core part of the company, but they are treated as second-class employees. They are trying to unionize in order to protect themselves. Praying for them - The product is pretty unimpressive. It's not a great experience for the tutors OR the students. - Constantly shifting priorities led to frustration and consistently having little impact on improving the product - Consistent layoffs have trashed morale and everyone seems pretty checked out. Most people are actively looking for new roles at other companies - I was but a humble developer who had little contact with the problematic people at this company. I am certain there are absolute HEAPS of BS that I was not privy to. This ship is sinking. If you are thinking of applying to this company, you might want to consider applying for a company that will still be around in a couple of years. I am quite happy I was laid off and am moving on to better things!
