Pros

It's golf retail so there is a lot of golf talk and hitting balls.

Cons

Management constantly cuts hours when plan is not met. They never recognize a job well done but are quick to point out where you are messing up. Your always short staffed so you are doing the work of 2 people but not paid as such. It's all about the bonuses for management. They could care less about you and you'll know it. Don't work here.

Pros

As a PGA Golf Teaching Professional you can gain some invaluable experience teaching and developing your skills and style as an instructor.

Cons

The work environment was vile. Corporate and upper management were constantly shoving the lack of sales figures down everyone's throat. Any incentives and rewards for employees to sell product were taken by the management for themselves. As a Class A PGA Professional you will be underpaid relative to industry standards. No incentive to teach more. Flat hourly rate with no increase in pay for good performance in 3 years.

Be mobile

Pros

The opportunity to grow with the company is good if you are mobile. If you are interested in the golf industry, it is a great place to start. If you are all in, you can have some good opportunities to move up quick.

Cons

Retail is retail. The pay isn't great, and the stress on managers seems to be a lot. Again, if you want to move up the chain, you must be mobile.
