Pros

Great way to get intro lab experience and build resume. Coworkers are nice for the most part

Cons

Lab workers are severely underpaid and unappreciated. Turnover rate is extremely high which is no surprise given the work conditions. There is no opportunity for advancement unless you're one of the lab manager's favorite or you're related to a higher up. This place is honestly the worst.

I appreciate and value your feedback. I couldn’t agree more that the individuals who work here at POLARIS Laboratories are great teammates, genuinely nice individuals and hardworking dedicated employees. Yes, our employee retention is a concern and one of my highest priorities, too. I worry about all our employees, and I am talking with all our managers regularly about making sure we are providing a quality environment where both our employees and our company can succeed. As a result, in many cases over the past year, we have promoted employees from within to help us leverage past institutional knowledge. We also have employees who have transferred to different facilities for promotion. We have many new objectives and processes to help ensure we retain our employees longer and bring more stability to our operations. Our employees are already experiencing the benefits as a result of better internal process efficiencies and less overtime. Thank you for your feedback. The input you provided has helped confirm the commitment we’re making to our employees in 2015 and beyond.

Pros

The company offers a wide range of oil, coolant, and diesel testing.

Cons

Employees are asked too often to work overtime, leaving less time for employees to spend with their families. Hard workers and good workers are less appreciated, and it seems the only way you can advance in the company is not through hard work, but by cozying up to upper management, and employees are offered promotions under the table, and post internally to save face when, but they already promised the job to their favorites, not giving anyone else a chance. Hard workers have to pull the slack of all the "bosses favorites" because production does not matter for their favorites, but if "you" don't give 110%, they think you are slacking. Lab employees severely underpaid.

First, I apologize for my tardy reply. I appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback, and I regret your experience has left you dissatisfied with your time at POLARIS Laboratories. Without hesitation, I truly understand and value our employees are our greatest asset. Our employees represent our direct line of communication and impact to our customers. Our management team is working harder than ever to empower our employees to make decisions that help us deliver improved quality and value to our customers. We appreciate all our employees and the overall impact they can have on the long-term relationship we have with our customers. As opportunities arise here at POLARIS Laboratories – and we’ve come a long way from being a company of five employees in 1999 to more than 200 employees today – we consistently look for the best candidate to possible to help execute our strategy and achieve our goals. For more than 15 years, we have watched our most successful employees thrive and succeed here at POLARIS Laboratories. And for some who have expanded their careers the most, promotions have not always come on their first application for a higher-level opportunity. We encourage you and all our employees to continue to set your goals high and continue to apply when new opportunities are created and become available. Again, we have not seen our company grow to be an industry leader simply by the partners driving the company, but by listening and rewarding our employees for helping improve the service we deliver to our customer every day. Thank you for your ongoing contribution and feedback. And if you would like to share more about your experience, please contact me and we can schedule a time to talk.

Pros

Decent way to get experience right out of the gate. You can learn about different processes and gain some resume-boosters.

Cons

You get worked too hard without enough compensation or appreciation. It really is a stepping stone kind of place as opposed to a place where you would settle in for a career.

Thanks for taking the time to write this review and I am sorry to hear your experience prompted you to explore a new opportunity elsewhere. We value the service of all our employees, and we truly wish you success in all your future endeavors. We have worked hard over the past 15 years to create a company where our employees feel valued and empowered to succeed and grow. It is possible we lost sight of those goals, at times, when focusing on our company’s growth. As a result, I am personally spending more time in all areas of the company, including the laboratories, so I can engage with all our employees and support our mission to deliver proven impact, uptime and savings back to our customers.
