Pros

CEO is great with leadership. Great company benefits. Work from home options.

Cons

Managers who don’t really know how to manage and will expect you to learn how to swim on your own because they are too busy to take the time to invest in their employees to be set up for success. There is no real structure in the work processes so everything takes along time especially for a new person joining the company. Teams tend to be super cliquey and if they don’t feel like you are worthy to be apart of it, they will make you feel like the black sheep causing a toxic work environment.

Pros

PROS: Flexibility to work from wherever whenever

Cons

CONS- *Inexperienced Leaders with inflated job titles and big egos *Retention of poor performers(Creating new roles for them) *Reaching out for unsolicited feedback on candidates/Back Channeling is a norm *Equity is a buzzword-Favoritism applied to promotional opportunities. Exceptions are always made for those closely connected to CPO/CHRO *DEI is a buzzword: when there is high turn over among your black and brown employees to include your DEI leader that’s a red flag *Retaliation: Leaders dissect low engagement results to try and identify who said what vs holding themselves accountable and trying to fix it. *Lack of respect for boundaries: Common to receive slacks and texts while on OOO *Lack of true strategic growth mind set. Reactive and Inefficient: if it’s the most backwards time consuming way of doing things…that’s usually the path forward Way too chaotic and dysfunctional for a company that is >1k and 2 years post IPO.

Hello and thank you for sharing your feedback. PagerDuty is a company that deeply values Inclusion, Diversity, and Equity (IDE), from how we hire and promote, to how we conduct our business operations. We follow a structured interview process and have a program devoted to Inclusive Hiring. Our attrition rate is in line with industry averages. Next month, we will be releasing our second annual IDE Report where we will share our progress toward making PagerDuty an equitable place for all. We believe the work in this area is never done, and we are committed to continuous improvement. We would like to remind you that PD has a policy against and does not tolerate discrimination, harassment, favoritism, or retaliation. PagerDuty is committed to an environment where open, honest communications are the expectation, not the exception. We want our employees to feel comfortable in approaching their management in instances where they believe violations of policies or standards have occurred. However, in situations where they prefer to not engage their management they are encouraged to use the EthicsPoint hotline, hosted by a third-party hotline provider, to submit an anonymous report. They may also contact an HR Business Partner. We take all concerns seriously and will address them accordingly. We are committed to creating an environment where all employees feel included, engaged and productive.
