Pros

The concept is brilliant and users; once they know what Patch is; love the site. The content is pleasing and allows for local voices to participate in the discussions.

Cons

The sales and marketing team try to replicate everything that worked when the company started in the NE however; it doesn't work in other areas where money isn't spend on building brand awareness. The sales management needs to be sent out to pasture as they lack the knowledge of building a company. Everyone is give the same quota independent of their tenure. Someone in the NE who has been there for three years in a very successful market carries the same quota as someone in IL a not too successful market.

Pros

Modern, open-concept office space with snacks provided. A few teammates were genuinely kind and collaborative.

Cons

- Favoritism toward white male staff, even when their work contained frequent spelling and grammar mistakes - No mentorship or growth opportunities --- reporters expected to handle writing, photography, video, and editing with little support - Exclusionary, boys’ club culture; bias and unequal treatment were clear - Direct manager made inappropriate comments and used profanity in public team chats about staff - Experienced racism and was ultimately pushed out of the organization
