Really weak culture. People are not trusted to do work or make decisions. Morale is very bad. The company has had significant change in the past year. The old CEO is gone and so is the culture and emphasis on taking care of people. The technology is at least 5 years behind where it needs to be. The HR "People and Culture" organization is so unorganized. It takes forever to get a reply or resolve an issue. The same people have said compensation reviews are coming for 2+ years. Nothing happens. Company has gone through multiple heads of HR and the current leadership is uncaring and lacking direction. Sadly many leaders are more interested in driving their personal agendas instead of helping employees grow and listening to their concerns. They talk a lot about making it a diverse, inclusive and top place to work but no programs or investments are actually made in those things.

Becoming the embodiment of “corporate” nonsense. The upper management changes every 14 months or so. New “saviors” come in (they know somebody) and immediately have to make their mark by shoving their methodologies down everyone’s throats. It doesn’t matter if the new methods fail, they will double down and keep going. MetaBank has acquired multiple companies in different industries in recent years and has no interest in actually supporting them, no interest in listening to the people who are actually doing the work. They immediately “know better” and proceed to upend the entire operation, destroying morale with the soul-crushing combination of incompetent leadership and corny Corporate tropes. Afterwards, they move on to chase the next shiny new thing to dabble in. It’s like a giant path of destruction.
