Pros

As a software engineer, I've been very happy with my time at Patriot. Management is receptive to feedback and gives developers the opportunity to influence which projects get worked on. Patriot is a unique size where you can have meaningful technical conversations with the CEO in the kitchen and then catch national radio/TV ads outside of work. Management recognizes that technical debt is a tool that can be flexed to expedite projects, but also doesn't shy away from investing time to address it. AWS is prevalent throughout the stack and Patriot is willing to invest time and money into training developers. This willingness to invest in their employees is one of the best things about working at Patriot.

Cons

Because of Patriot's investment into promoting and hiring from within, there is a lack of senior developers with outside experience. This can lead to slower adoption of new technologies and can make it difficult to find experienced technical mentors.

Pros

Plenty of challenging technical problems and as a growing company there is plenty of opportunity for new employees to prove themselves. Causal dress code, frequent company events, and laid back work environment make Patriot a fun and relaxed place to have fun and develop as a professional.

Cons

Some growing pains associated with company growth. Team collaboration and development standards are still catching up with the company scale.

Pros

An increased effort to engage employees in positive ways (fun little employee activities like cookie decorating, bonfires/cornhole/BBQ fall fest, 15Five, etc) Monthly 1 on 1's with manager focused on personal development Flexible work schedule Casual dress code Laid-back atmosphere Career ladders Competitive PTO

Cons

Some teams in charge of business critical functions need to be on call to handle problems outside of normal office hours Currently going through a hiring craze but most teams are still spread pretty thin and most employees are encouraged to fill multiple roles because of this
