Pros

Competitive pay. Fun work environment. Great customer interactions. Awesome deals on product and merchandise.

Cons

No teamwork ethics at all. Schedule structure broken. Get used to customer threats. Lots of stolen and broken merchandise. ROACHES in every store. Eggs probably in all the product you buy. Company policys are 100% strict on managers, but employees get away with everything. Company bumps managers up only when they need a replacement. Company fires you the chance they get. Company requires 47+ hours a week and 53+ during holiday season. Staff structure requires management to do everyone's job everyday. No life outside of work. Store of the month gets a cheap plastic medal to display. Cant even give head coach a plaque for recognition or even a hand shake from owner. Could go on and on....

Pros

Managers were approachable, flexible, professional, and friendly. As a part-time broker, I was able to increase my hours frequently by accessing company website to pick up extra shifts. I was provided with excellent training and felt as though I had all the tools I needed to perform my job successfully.

Cons

As a broker, some customers would get upset if you quoted them a price they did not like. I even witnessed some customers attempt to engage in verbal arguments with some of my co-workers, which could be stressful at times. Lines were long which also made many of the customers upset, putting them in bad moods by the time they reached the pawn counter.

Pros

When I first started at Pawn America I was young and it paid decent, after I went full time I was rewarded with promotions, which I thought was great! The insurance packages are good if you are a single person, but for families it's not affordable. I also worked with some really awesome people, who I still have great relationships with today.

Cons

Eventually my career growth was hindered, even though I busted my butt for anything that was needed and always told I was the glue that held things together, yet was never given the opportunity to have my own store. Work/life balance is non-existent. Company is too concerned with numbers, needs to focus more on the good things that are happening too.
