Pros

The opportunity to grow and better yourself at Paycom is evident in most all of the positions and proof of noticeable in most employees. You can move up by accomplishing the items listed on your employee path and receive due compensation for doing so. PSD pushes you to new/untold limits as not only a team member or employee but a person. It takes a certain type to thrive in this environment but it can be worth it. You can truly grow to be a better professional and person just by working at Paycom. If you're looking to push yourself and for a daily challenge this could be the place for you. It may be cliche for Paycom, but the kool-aid is delicious, the culture is awesome and the people are even better.

Cons

While constantly adding new products and enhancing/changing existing new products, Specialists are expected to learn and adapt to what can be MAJOR changes without notice. Most notably, adding an entire ACA product in the middle of 2015 without fully training the PSD Specialists and even the CRRs and TSRs has created a huge problem for our year end processing. We were not prepared and things are constantly changing without acknowledgement and especially without any increased compensation for tripling the workload in PSD. Letting other positions garner commission on signing paperwork while forcing others to complete 99% of the work does not motivate those who carry the company on their shoulders.

Thank you for all that you do for our clients. We realize the additional workload associated with ACA setup and greatly appreciate our employees resilience during year-end. The ACA has changed numerous times, but we have been training our employees on this monumental piece of legislation since 2014. Again, we appreciate all that you do to ensure our clients experience another seamless year-end. We’ve sent your concerns to members of our senior leadership team.

Pros

The same stuff that everyone always says Chad Raymond-He really is the glue that keeps the department together.

Cons

Ridiculous work load Unreasonable expectations Complaints fall on deaf hears (until something is posted on Glass Door) The sales team sells to larger and larger clients, but management has not made adjustments to how many clients specialists are responsible for. It is impossible to do the specialist job to the standards the clients deserve.

As a growing company we are continually evaluating processes, pay structures, individual responsibility and workload. Our employees are greatly important to us and our success, which is why we are looking at making changes. You’re right, this is a challenging time of year, but together we can prevail stronger and more united. Year-end duties will soon be over and we can begin preparing for our annual Year-End Party, which celebrates your hard work. Your feedback is appreciated and has been sent to members of our senior leadership team. Your service is greatly valued here at Paycom. Thank you for all that you do!

Pros

Benefits and some of the people are nice. The company itself is a good company. I wouldn't recommend working in the payroll department at all.

Cons

So much. Paycom is growing so fast which is awesome but at the same time they are putting extra work on their employees. Working in the payroll department is by far the hardest most stressful job ever. When you don't know the answer to something your TL is in meetings all day especially during our busiest time of the year. No one helps. Paycom should start treating their employees like they do their clients. When a client threatens to term Paycom bends over backwards to keep them. If an employee puts their 2 weeks in they don't try anything to keep them. Paycom is going to continue losing good employees if things don't change. Paycom should value their good employees a lot more than what they do. I used to love working here and that feeling is gone almost to zero.
