CEO has lost the big picture

Pros

They provide great benefits and mental health support.

Cons

The biggest con is that Chad is still the CEO. He demands each product be exceptional but knows absolutely nothing about the products or departments. He finds out a product doesn’t look like he wants it to so he demands everyone stop what they are doing. He doesn’t sit to understand the actual service and the impact it truly has or what it could have. There is no talking, there is no middle ground, it is either listen or be fired. That management style has flowed down to the leadership of the whole company. The culture of Paycom has been DESTROYED due to this. There is no longer room to truly grow. They release Gallup surveys that are voluntary to provide honest feedback but the leadership teams bribe and push people to complete them. Your mental health will get worse and worse because even though they provide mental health days, Chad will pull a report to see who took PTO and the reason for it. Paycom is still trying to act like they are a leader in the payroll industry but that is no longer the case. Employees and clients know it but Chad is the only one who can’t accept it.

Worst place to work — Horrible culture

Pros

Virtually none essentially. This job has greatly decreased my mental health.

Cons

Extremely out of touch upper management. Management tracks and keeps tabs on all employees with badge swipes. The higher ups famously revoked work from home policies. Because of my job, I’m unable to take time off on tuesdays because I’m the only developer capable of doing a certain action. Management could care less about having work life balance. The new class action lawsuit is leading management to essentially do firings with no basis to cut costs. My whole team and fellow coworkers all have been trying to leave or find other jobs. As a developer, it’s almost impossible to find other jobs though because of the extremely antiquated tech stack Paycom uses.

Pros

All of the on-the-ground employees that I have interacted with have been great and have made my time here so far great. Team lead actually cares about you, benefits aren't bad.

Cons

Terrible communication from people on top. When I took this job about a month ago I was told that it was a work-from-home position and that it was not going to change. That was a lie and now they are making everyone return to office without any warning or valid reason. They have provided no compensation for people that took this jobs with long commutes that took it expecting to be WFH or parents now needing to find childcare in less than a month on the holidays. They say they care about their employees and their wellbeing, but have clearly shown the opposite and refuse to listen to any reason.
