Pros

- If you're starting out your career, this is a pretty good choice. Everyone on my team (devs and QA) have all been amazing to work with. - Structure for raises is pretty nice - $1 health insurance is neat

Cons

- If you care about working remotely in any capacity, look somewhere else. The execs have shown that they REALLY want the peons in office given the switch from 1 day in office to 3/2 - 2/3 rotation. Highly doubt they won't try to force devs in office 5 days a week given how badly they treated QA. - Lack of planning recently and rushed deadlines. As part of the return to office, it was announced that part of the reason was to be able to prepare for "new, and exciting projects". That's great and all... except for the fact that for the projects we've had recently, we've had barely any time to plan, we're thrown deadlines that isn't possible without overtime, and we're constantly getting new / changing requirements. Really great experience right here. - The company really cares about your mental health... yeah not really. The technical department (dev/QA) was given the announcement for return to office in November/December, in the middle of the holiday season. How much time did they give QA before they had to return to office 5 days a week? A few weeks. Way to go team! Instead of enjoying the festivities, you gotta go figure out if you gotta move, find a new job, etc.

Culture of fear and ego

Pros

My first few levels of leaders are the best bosses I’ve ever worked for. They care about me, they help me be successful, and are always supportive. I can tell how stressed they are trying to hold things together.

Cons

Our entire company strategy is to placate the egos of upper management. Everyone is terrified of our CEO, and nobody has the confidence to tell him what the real problems are because they’re afraid they’ll lose their high paying job. We’re hiding information from him every week, and then running after what he thinks needs to be done. When things don’t go well it’s the lower level people that get fired or lose bonuses. This leaves you in constant fear of your job and uncertain about the future of the company.

Out of touch leadership

Pros

I enjoy the people I work with.

Cons

Culture. Commute. Impossible deadlines to meet. They will drain you and leave you to dry. Leadership is antiquated. Disappointed in their handling of RTO. How out of touch to force your employees to return to office when we’ve have been just as effective if not more with a hybrid schedule. Pay is laughable and there’s no incentive for loyalty and hard work. In the end, you’re treated as just a number.
