WARNING-TERRIBLE PLACE TO WORK!

Pros

Only one pro, it is a job

Cons

There are so many, where to begin. The unrealistic workload, treatment of employees, 50-60 hour work weeks and low compensation per stress and work requirements. Expected to work weekend, after this weekend, I will have worked 21 straight days, and that is with working 60 hours each week. They try to promote the $4 lunches, what is a lunch? I took 2 lunches this week at my desk, and shame on me for going to the bathroom. The micromanagement is beyond the creepy level! I was proud to work for an OK based company, how disappointed I am in the entire company model. I really believe the company promotes a hostile work environment. If an employee says different they are either management or lying. There is always the fear of retribution. Single parents are made to feel bad if they don't want to work on the weekends they happen to have their kids. If you can't work on Sunday because of church, you are told that the expectations will be the same, which means, you should really work because you are going to be required the same workload to get done in 6 days instead of 7. When the weather was so bad last month, employees were told to show up or else because our clients don't care how the weather is in Oklahoma. I will leave as soon as I can find another job!

We encourage you to reach out to your HR business partner to address any concerns regarding a hostile work environment as this is something we take very seriously. Strategic Thinkers Beware

Pros

Base salary for sales is higher than most other organizations. If you are new to sales, the training is phenomenal and will serve you well in the future. This is a great job for new college graduates with no family, friends, or social life.

Cons

Paycom is somehow micro-managing themselves out of business. As a Customer Relations Rep (advertised at Account Executive) they will pay you $95K base salary, and offer perks such as vacation incentives, designer sunglasses, etc. -- At that salary rate, they are attracting experienced sales talent. However, once they get them onboard, they do everything they can to never allow you to think for yourself again. Every single meeting you have will be tracked. Every single sales process must follow the framework they have developed. Are you a strategic thinker? It doesn't matter at Paycom. You will follow their process regardless of the nuance you may be trying to work through. Its like working for Paycom zombies who just repeat the same things over and over again. Did you BAMFAM? Did you do your analysis? Impact...BETI....blah blah blah No one at Paycom has ever had an original thought. I wouldn't be surprised if upper management meetings are just writing buzzwords on a whiteboard. I began at Paycom as a GREAT employee, my references were outstanding and I have excelled at every job I have ever had. I left Paycom dejected, exhausted, and having to rebuild my confidence in myself. I literally took months to mentally recover from my experience at Paycom. If you have any sales experience at all BEWARE of Paycom. Do not let the high base salary trap you.
