Pros

Earning Potential Comp plan Great product Jeff is a great leader

Cons

No Work life balance start at 7 end by 6 or later. Too many rah rah meetings and internal pat on backs of manager meetings Coming from another tech our CRM is trash and our CPQ system is terrible but any feedback or commentary you provide isn’t your focus or job description so don’t provide it or you’ll get reprimanded. Sales training focuses on the product and how to sell the product or demo better but nothing around negotiations, sales tactics, sales overviews. Or our own Sales process. You get that in a 2 month crash course at the beginning. That is very rushed and thank god I don’t ever have to do that again. Hope we Switch to a quarter sales cycle vs monthly. We are closing big deals that get you to yearly but you still have to close monthly numbers. Top sales reps are literally quiting and taking days off because of mental health and toxicity. No loyalty to employees. Employees are worried just when they get a vp 1x1 or a manager 1x1 Friday’s regardless where you rank there’s a fear that it’s your last day. When it comes to anything it’s alway, “that’s why we pay you what we do” There’s no company culture. No one takes interest in knowing you or you knowing them for fear that you’ll be gone or they’d be gone. It’s very toxic and people are constantly fired, let go or quit. Yet reviews with Paylocity/Kronos for example don’t have that. There are great sales reps here with great potential but sales leadership leads by fear and it’s a recipe for disaster Glad we’re working from home now as our old school sales way have slowly scaled back. Technology is finally at the forefront conversation of leaders as they are finding better ways to track us through our terrible CRM system where you have to attach nonesense documents that no one ever really reviews. Too much administrative work in sales process

Pros

The pay was decent and the benefits were good.

Cons

This place is just a big mess! Nobody really knows what they are doing here, and if you say something, nothing ever gets done about it. One of the biggest cons was the Paycom system, be ready to start submitting ticket after ticket because the system is such trash. If I were a client I would definitely not be using their system. Another con was the overload of work that payroll specialists have to take on. The training at this place is pretty horrible and you will just be thrown in without the proper training. You will face system error after system error! The worst part was asking someone a question and they would just tell you to ask someone else , so then you would ask another person and that person wouldn't know or tell you to ask someone else! I believe this all leads back to the lack of management from the CEO Chad Richison. He has a great company but doesn't really know what all is happening under him! He needs to just drain the swamp and get people that actually know what they are doing! Also, be careful with the reviews on here because most of them are done by new hires during training as an activity. This place just needs some help!

Pros

The money. The commission structure makes it possible to earn an incredible amount. Some offices have good management (this varies greatly from office to office). Some offices also have good teamwork and camaraderie among reps.

Cons

Work-life balance is not a priority of Paycom Sales. Unless you are a person who thrives on working constantly, I would not recommend it. I actually saw an article on LinkedIn today that was posted by Paycom about the benefits of encouraging employees to take all of their PTO. I found this hilarious, because Paycom gives little PTO, and you are certainly not encouraged to take it. In fact, you'll be made to feel guilty every time you want to take some time off. It seems like Paycom promotes high-selling reps to management, without considering other qualities that might make someone a good manager. There ARE some good ones there, but the one I had lacked a lot of leadership skills. There were also a lot of issues getting new customers up and running in the agreed upon timeline. We didn't have a lot of help, which made things difficult with building relationships with new customers. There was also a lot of trouble getting customer references. If there are so many happy customers out there, why was it so difficult to get references when we needed them? There was so much stress that even when I was doing well, I felt like it wasn't nearly enough. My manager stressed us all out constantly. When I wasn't working, I was thinking about work. It started to take over my personal life, and that's when I had to say that enough was enough.
