Pros

The training that they provide for this position is actually extremely useful. They honestly provide great resources to get you up and running. Additionally, they give you best practices that are useful across other companies/positions. If you are starting your career in Project Management this place would be an excellent place to start.

Cons

- The pay is not great, the salary is the same across the whole country. Which does not make sense since cost of living in OKC vs NY or SF is completely different. - "Transition Specialist Representative"... what does this even mean? Barely anyone calls themselves this. Everyone calls themselves "Implementation Project Managers" or "Project Manager". But I believe that Paycom does not want to call the TSRs anything else because they would have to pay them more. - Work life balance.. not really there. Management really expects you to be working all the time and does not care if you are working 60+ hours a week - Upper Management does not listen to you.. your advice will never be heard. I saw a lot of Management listening to the issues, but then ignoring them and not acting on them. - You get commission based off employee usage of the product. Depending what type of company you get, this can screw you over and you are doing a lot of work for nothing. A lot of these companies are pretty small and have no tech skills. So getting them to log into an App can be harder than you think. - Employee turn over, there is a lot... people leave for the reasons I listed above

Pros

Strong company reputation especially if you want to be in the tech world Development opportunities (though you will have much more if you are located at one of the two headquarter locations) More freedom if you are in one of the satellite offices Teaches you how to be VERY adaptable because directives changed from one day to the next the entire time I worked for the company

Cons

Openly discriminatory when it comes to hiring for sales teams (sales managers will openly reference weight, age, race, etc. because they don't "fit the Paycom look") Negative, overly competitive, cut-throat which is detrimental if you like to work in a team environment = everyone is basically out for themselves Was told that we need to wear our hair down and put on makeup to be "acceptable" by Paycom standards Very old school for a tech company = you have to dress in suit and ties and people have been rejected as potential hires due to facial hair It became clear through quarantine that productivity was more important than the mental health/well being of the employees

Pros

Paycom seemed like a dream come true for a salesperson...great tech opportunity, high base pay, extremely fast growing, uncapped earning potential, great health insurance and car allowance. Add to that some very smart people and a great training program that focused a lot on the mental side of rejection and sales. I thought this was going to be a career I could see myself in for a long time! Oh boy was I WRONG... /

Cons

Where do I even begin? Management has to be THE worst, incompetent, biased group of people I have ever worked under. They treated you like you knew nothing and if you didn't conform to the propaganda and favoritism you were fired faster than you can blink. Add to this the constant micro management and lack or respect from other arrogant sales execs and it may be one of the most miserable places you can possibly work. The majority of the sales people in my class were fired...the rate of turnover at this place is unfathomable! They tend to fire people right after they close their first deals so that they probably don't have to pay the commission. The turnover seems to be built into their revenue model. They can fire you for no reason at all even though you are crushing quota and setting up more meetings than anyone else in the office. If you want to go back to high school and be treated like a kid again then sign up for Paycom. It literally was the worst experience of my life and I don't wish it upon anyone! Do yourself a favor and take your hard work to somewhere who appreciates it!!

We are sorry to hear your experience at Paycom was not more positive. We demand a lot of our sales team and these expectations are made very clear prior to employment and they are rewarded as goals are met. For those who are at or exceeding quota, the earning potential and opportunity to grow quickly within a large company is unique. We recognize the sales role at Paycom is challenging and not for everyone. While we have high expectations for our employees, we have higher expectations for our managers and actively seek to support and develop their management skills. We will share your feedback with the leadership team and wish you well.
