Can't ask for a better team

Pros

I started at Newton when we were seven people sitting in a room, selling and supporting applicant tracking software. In the last five years this company has grown significantly in its own right along with the help of our parent company Paycor, through our acquisition. This is the best team that I have worked with in my career. We are a family that supports one another and we like to give each other a hard time with healthy doses of sarcasm. We have high expectations for ourselves, each other and our product. Sales, Success, Marketing and Product regularly work together to ensure we are providing the best experiences for our customers. You are not going to find flashy start-up offerings here. You will get a lot more out of working here than what you might find at your typical SF start up. (free food and kombucha? Foosball and ping pong?) No judgement if that is your thing, its just not what we value here. We value career growth, building better processes for our team and our customers, working hard and then leaving at a reasonable time at the end of the day.

Cons

We are still a bit siloed form our parent company. We are actively working on multiple points of integration on both a product and company level. Paycor tries but struggles with understanding what it means to be a software company in the Bay Area.

Pros

Everyone works together here, this is one of the (many) pros working here. I have been at quite a few companies in my work history where "client first" is always the mission, but none have come close to the execution of this mission as Newton. From sales working together with service, launch with success to make the transition easy for the customer, everyone works together for the common goal. The team is great, they welcomed me with open arms, everyone in the office I truly consider not just a colleague but a friend. I also learn new things about the prodcut every day, which definitely keeps me on my toes. All in all I am very grateful this opportunity came along in my careerpath.

Cons

One thing that is being worked on is creating some more visability between Paycor (parent company) and Newton. As with any growing companies, when there is an acquisition there are always some barriers to knock down.

Pros

teams support one another internally, everyone has each other's back. managers have stuck around through acquisition by larger parent company. great knowledge and understanding of the product. everyone works hard and acknowledges each other's efforts. the team doesn't play the "not my problem" game with clients. everyone wants to help. newton still has the ability to function as a nimble company that can implement change when needed - with the back up of strong, stable parent company. great, caring, smart, employees!

Cons

some growing pains after being acquired but that's growth for ya!
