Good pay and benefits but no work/life balance

Pros

The owners really value employee feedback and try to implement changes accordingly. The regional managers are also great. They are super hard-working and helpful. They don’t get enough credit! Bonnie and Bevan in the marketing department at corporate are wonderful. They are always willing to help and they get back to us very quickly. I also think the benefits package is very good.

Cons

Absolutely no work/life balance. You will be working on site 9, 10 or 11 hours a day. Also your day will be filled up with meaningless tasks. By that I mean- Craigslist postings (no one uses Craigslist to shop for apartments anymore) daily reports. The people on site are so overwhelmed with busywork and unnecessary tasks (marketing calendars, lightbulb reports) that we don’t have time do do anything that really needs to get done. We don’t have enough time to spend with residents and prospects. Basically you’re sprinting all day long trying to keep up. It’s definitely stressful. I’d also like to mention that upper management we worked with was awful. I think he truly enjoys intimidating people and making them feel stupid. He tries to quiz people and put them on the spot in front of others (I’ve seen him do this to staff and vendors alike) He does nothing to try to motivate or empower his staff. He has a huge ego and it definitely shows. I have not had any personal issues with him these are just my observations. I don’t like people who treat other people that way. I don’t think it’s right

Horrendous. Overworked and under paid and not appreciated

None. I absolutely can’t think of one good or positive reason to work here. It was my Biggest career mistake ever.

Cons

Very Long Hours and no appreciation. Management shows Favoritism for certain employees. The turnover within this company is higher than industry standards.

We understand positions, in some instances, can be demanding and that it takes a highly organized individual to succeed at some communities. Work life balance is something a majority of our country struggles with. We continue to work on creative ways to help our teams with this important topic.

Not any that I can think of! No, nothing comes to mind that is a pro. I would recommend that you look elsewhere for employment.

Cons

Very unprofessional and unethical upper management. Small 3rd party company that does not understand operations and how to create a healthy culture for the employees.

Our founders and senior management all started their careers in property management as leasing consultants and have worked through the years in several different positions giving them first hand knowledge on the best operating procedures for an apartment community. We completely understand that we can be a bit unconventional at times but our methods continue to be successful.
