Pros

Flexibility, able to work from home when needed, even prior to the pandemic. Pay is competitive or even a notch above. Discounted stock offering for employees, and stock growth has recently been substantial. Virtual team activities during covid like wine tasting and cooking lessons but those had mostly stopped recently.

Cons

Perficient's culture statement (if one exists) would be - be constantly billable and be obsessed with being billable. Understandably, publicly traded companies need to drive value for their shareholders but this was taken to the extreme. Even if you had a vacation planned several months in advance, or even a company holiday (pretty minimal, only 6 of them per year), you had to make up the billable hours for that time which can really wear you down. Most leaders are disconnected - they mention that people are burned out but do nothing to help the problem. Even directors are overworked with billable hours and are not given the time to be strategic or forward thinking, which puts a hamper on a department's growth and innovation. Promotions are few and far between. There's lots of take but barely any give (outside the salary and bonus of course) - expect to work while sick because there are no separate sick days, it will be taken out of your limited PTO. Also very difficult to get the tools needed to do your job remotely, and expect to fight for special equipment. I have a medical issue due to my job, and I had to wait 8 weeks before a $20 ergonomic item was approved for me to buy (I ended up buying one on my own anyway). I needed new monitors as my old ones were not compatible with my system and I never bothered to ask for them because I knew I'd have to fight for them and I didn't have it in me. Most people are easy to get along with, however toxic colleagues do exist (brilliant but emotionally abusive or slackers who need to be pushed to do their jobs). If you're proactive and work hard, you'll likely be more in a PM role than your actual job. The toxic colleagues are allowed to remain at the company to the detriment of others and the client deliverables. More progressive companies who treat their employees as humans do exist, I encourage you to look there or use PRFT as a stepping stone to get there.

Pros

nice supportive coworkers in some groups

Cons

YOU NEED TO BUY YOUR OWN MONITORS AND EVERYTHING ELSE. For remote technical workers, they only provide headset+mouse benefits among the worst i've seen....high healthcare premium, HSA contribution half of what other companies typically offer, 401k matching low and half automatically in company stock, new pto policy allows only 1 week in december hard to get hardware/software....general poor work accommodation, internal processes/information/platforms old and lacking, nickel and diming consultants

Perficient not Efficient

Pros

Good central location; cuts down on commute; close to shops to get errands done on lunch or after work.

Cons

CFO is crooked; asked to do unethical things; benefits not explained when hired; either know questions to ask, or learn the hard way. System used is so poorly designed, it’s comical that is what they do for business.
