Pros

You get to deal with animals all day and interact with people and their pets. The management is respectful to the employees.

Cons

No promotion opportunities, you are basically stuck where they hire you. No wage increases for for Groomers, you stay at minimum wage even after like two years. Petco is just cheap and won't give any employees a raise, it all goes to corporate where they don't even do that much, just say if we need to pick it up or not.

Pros

I have a passion for working with animals and their pet parents. I love the fast pace and diverse job duties.

Cons

I hate that the store and us managers are not given the hours to function in a customer service positive atmosphere. The new "customer advisor" position is a joke. She spends 2-4 hours a day covering register and aquatics because hours were cut from those positions to cover her full time status. This is not good customer service.

Pros

Very flexible, competitive wages, transfer options, advancement opportunities, benefit package. If you are a hard working individual with ambition and initiative this could be a great carrer move.

Cons

Senior managements inability to understand field associates concerns. Very streamlined work, must be able to perform all job functions. If the senior team took a step back and listened to the stores there could be more success then what is currently being seen.
