Refresh of leadership needed

Pros

The technology and platform is constantly innovating and improving. It’s a solution that can make a real impact in organizations. Good work life balance.

Cons

Leadership needs to be shaken up. Everyone comes from a similar background - either legacy phenom or career builder. The outcome is no diversity of thought or willingness to take input from others. The process is what is it and there’s no deviating from it even if it’s not working for certain markets. Lots of micromanagement and control from leaders on how things should be done. Feedback is not taken well. Very little diversity. Constant change in messaging, product pushes, etc. No communication between teams - very siloed to your specific team and any overlay counterparts. We push internal mobility to our customers, but lack opportunities inside Phenom to move around. I’ve seen more outside hires than internal in my 3 years here.

Its Complicated

Pros

Surrounded by a lot of hard-working people who genuinely want to get to know you and care about your success. The office culture is very upbeat and I think its a great idea to mandate two days a week to come in- to build back up office culture. The office culture is their strength.

Cons

This place loves you when you're not on a call or in front of client. They are aware of their issues, but they don't care. That will prevent them from becoming a better company. They want to overwork employees, without really backing them up professionally. Everyone is overworked so there is no time to really get to a root issue. Also- this is one of the most sexist places I have ever worked. This place loves white males- and anyone else needs to work that much harder, harder than the white males who are brainwashed to think working 100-hour weeks are normal.

Pros

Unlimited PTO, but you’re expected to check in and even work on your days off

Cons

Everything is chaotic and disorganized. The marketing department is run like a two day old start up. Leadership is childish, yells, swears and belittles employees regularly on team calls. Deadlines constantly change just to watch people squirm to finish. It’s an incredibly competitive and unhealthy environment which creates constant fear. There is no diversity and a clear division between the pre-covid team and everyone else. There is a select group of favorites who work ridiculously long hours for a “shout out” on a Friday morning call. Same people week after week giving up their personal lives for a sad to watch “shout out”. If you’re not a favorite you will not succeed. The turnover is astounding and HR is fully aware of the issues and have a list of complaints from all the exit interviews. People are leaving without other jobs just to get out because it’s that bad.
