High level management doesn't recognize importance of good software engineering and hires non-technical people to do work that should be done by technical people which leads to a poor implementation and ends up costing them more. The percentages for annual raises and bonuses are abysmal and don't or barely match inflation. Part of your raise also depends on business groups that you have no control over: for example sleep and respiratory care business unit had awful year with recall, but my raise % was lowered because it affected the company even though I had nothing to with it and could not control anything as I was in a completely different business unit.
