Pros

It's overwhelming to see what this company is doing for kids. Everyone is so passionate about their work. The work is tough and sometimes the hours are long, but it's easy to gain perspective around what is really important here. People are amazing and my team is wonderful to work with. Oh, and the cafeteria is wonderful and very inexpensive.

Cons

Parking can be a challenge.

I agree that it is an amazing place to work and the mission is touching. Parking is tough but knowing how each employee contributes to the healing of a child certainly puts it in perspective.

PICU RN- Love my patients

Pros

I really enjoy working at PCH, truly. My patients are the best and the reason I stay.

Cons

As much as I love PCH and would like to never leave here the pay is absolutely horrible for nurses and techs. After taxes and insurance we make almost nothing compared to any other hospital in AZ. The critical care areas don’t get paid more and the turn over of bedside staff is horrible! Also, probably the most aggravating part is that if you work here you can expect the most ridiculous pay raise system ever. However, if you come in with experience you make way more. So basically it doesn’t matter about how many years of service you have put in at the hospital if you leave and then come back you make way more. So they basically push you out because nobody can live off this ridiculous pay.

Pros

The patients. That is it.

Cons

The pay was horrible for what you have to endure. The nursing staff is completely rude and make you feel inferior. Horrible place to work. I would leave in tears every day. I quit my job here MONTHS ago and needed a copy of my final paystuobt today and even payroll was completely rude. I would NEVER recommend working here to anyone. Also, you will be working 3/12s a week with no time for lunch and no breaks.
