Pros

Pilot is a good place to work, truly it is. If you have a set plan for your career growth and you know the right people, you can probably promote and move up internally. Company culture is good. Benefits and a focus on employee health and wellness is nice. If you’re local to Knoxville, you get a free membership to the YMCA, which is a great benefit. On-site gym and cafeteria for corporate are nice, as well as rotating quarterly events like food truck days, zoo day, etc.

Cons

Unfortunately, due to every department being cordoned off into its own wing of each building and each team member needing badge access to get in, there is little to no cross-training or even getting to know people in other departments. Previous jobs I’ve had have encouraged job shadowing and learning about other parts of the company, but Pilot almost discourages that with every department being quarantined from every other group. Unless you’re in the main building, you don’t see other departments or get the opportunity to try and develop new skills and careers. Could probably work your way up the ladder if you’re in the right place, talking to the right people, or know people that can benefit you. If you aren’t constantly kissing up, you’ll likely end up forgotten about and accepting your 2-3% raise annually.
