Pros

There really is none at all.

Cons

The trucking industry has completely changed. The drivers are rude and always have to be right. Pilot sides with them regardless of what there drivers do. They turn things up, throw garbage on the ground, leave pee bottles all over the place, and don't take any responsibility. When this is brought up to your GM nothing is done about it even when verbally abused by them. Working conditions are poor at best and expect you to even pick up there human waste where the drivers put it with just latex gloves on.

Pros

There are some smart people who got roped into working here. Most of the interesting work, however, is done by McKinsey & Company

Cons

- Starting soft with a half pro half con depending who you are, everyone is only given a Windows laptop and bare minimum MS products. No slack, no nice to haves tech wise - There are no tests or monitoring. Actually none whatsoever. How to do they know if things are working? See title. - Aside from new initiatives that are on AWS, most things are on prem. - No VPN for remote work, you have to remote into a desktop on prem. - Data engineering is constantly putting out ~10 production failures per day, so the actual data engineering usually falls on the DS side - No CI/CD - Zero software engineering practices - Management has no idea what data science actually is, and they end up playing a huge part in how models get made / pushed. Why hire DS folks? Again, see title. - Almost zero diversity. The execs have been raided by the FBI for fraud and caught making racist and sexist comments, so not surprising. Google this if you don't believe me.

Pros

Looking back I enjoyed my time working with the company. Pilot pays by hour so the driver can take his time with each load. I worked nights so I was able to get most of my work done in under 10 hours and if I wanted another load there was always plenty to do. The pay and home time was great. I would highly recommend this company as a fuel driver.

Cons

Slip seating, waiting for fuel prices to change before dispatch assigned loads. Sometimes while trying to drop loads there will be trucks parked on top of fuel drops.
