Pros

Unlimited pto, remote work. The coworkers are good for the most part

Cons

Unlimited pto is a recent change that came about because so many people were leaving, changing to “unlimited” was a way to not have to pay out unused pto. The work is boring. Anything new or fun is getting sent to the India teams to work on, with us coming in to fix the inevitable bugs, through no fault of their own. The india team just doesn’t know or understand the industry. The QA team is rough. They’re either very good, or don’t know even the basics of testing and there is no in between. The C Suite doesn’t know or care about the issues, it’s honestly sad to see the change from before vista came in. In short, it’s a huge change from what the company used to be just a few years ago before it was sold to vista, most of the changes for the worse. It’s a good place if you are just starting out in your career but I can’t recommend it in its current state

Pros

Great coworkers, flexibility, learn something new every day. I really used to love working there before Vista people came in to restructure and get ready to sell. You can work there for a year, learn the business and go work anywhere else and make 2x the money (if you can handle to stay that long) I will always be thankful for everything I learned during my time with the company and the good friends I made along the way

Cons

Pays well below national average and does not admit to it when $ales is the only department that matters Poor benefit suite for a benefits company Owned by Vista Equity so they’re just outsourcing to India to increase profit and sell Leadership is clueless about their own product EDI department is the core of the business and the most underappreciated and underpaid in the company Everyone who knew anything about anything has left in the last 2 years - including myself New EDI director gives boiler room call center vibes, extremely unprofessional, disrespects employees, tries to put teammates against each other and is tactless and clueless (but we are beginning to suspect this is actually strategical to get onshore analysts to leave so they can continue to grow the India team) ZERO transparency from leadership

PlanSource Response

Thank you for taking the time to write a review and we appreciate the time you spent at PlanSource. I’m sorry you no longer think it’s a great place to work, I would like to address a few of your comments in your review. PlanSource has gone through a lot of change which is common in a high-growth technology company. Change is difficult for many, but we have continued to be transparent and open in our communication as much as possible. We do have an India office however, we are not outsourcing positions to India, we have grown our office there which has allowed us to scale and be more efficient in product and technology. We have over 700 employees and 80% are based in the United States. Like many companies, we reduced staffing in 2020 during the pandemic, however since then we have ramped back up and have hired over 300 people in 2021 and are continuing a high rate of growth and hiring in 2022 Communication styles vary from leader to leader, we would encourage employees who are struggling with information from their department or the company to reach out to their manager or HR to address. We try to be very transparent as a company and continue to hold Town Hall company meetings regularly to update our team on happenings within the organization. We appreciate your review and wish you the best. Sharon Brand Chief People Officer
