Pros

The paychecks are processed on time.

Cons

Despite the sales pitch, this is a staffing firm. 𝑰 𝒘𝒐𝒖𝒍𝒅 𝑵𝑶𝑻 𝒂𝒅𝒗𝒊𝒔𝒆 𝒘𝒐𝒓𝒌𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒆 𝒏𝒐 𝒎𝒂𝒕𝒕𝒆𝒓 𝒉𝒐𝒘 𝒎𝒖𝒄𝒉 𝒎𝒐𝒏𝒆𝒚 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒚 𝒐𝒇𝒇𝒆𝒓. 🚩“Never consider yourself safe or valued - you are cattle. Some of the most talented people I know were thrown from this train and are at the best companies in the world wondering why and how they were conned into earning money for this backwater paranoia factory.” 🚩"...manager needed to feel competent and secure and that means getting rid of everyone remotely qualified so she can look best in comparison..." 🚩"Many good people were let go to allow room for inexperienced "friends" of the management team." 🚩"No one should have to choose between their integrity and keeping a job." 🚩"The few good people they can manage to recruit find a way to get out FAST!" 🚩"Only pure evil employees are welcome on the management team."

Pros

The company has many individuals with tremendous expertise and great reputations as Microsoft solutions experts. It has also amassed many awards from MSFT for being a market leader in using the MSFT product suite for system integration projects for its clients. The worker bees there are a great group of hard-working, loyal employees who go above and beyond to perform and support company objectives. The company acknowledges them through various employee appreciation events throughout the year. However, between these major activities, support is lacking and morale sometimes suffers. Compensation seems in line with industry standard, at least from this former employees perspective.

Cons

As a private company, leadership exercises its right to make decisions in what it perceives to be the best interest of the company, which is understandable. But decisions do often seem to be made in a vacuum. The people who work hard to make the company successful can be made to feel like a commodity at times in a "what have you done for me lately culture". Management asks for candid feedback but often can't handle it, or it then becomes a liability to those expressed it. Bottomline, if you are okay with working for a company with an inconsistent value system, you will be fine. You will be decently compensated. You will find support among your peers. But don't expect too much from leadership.

We have been fortunate to have phenomenal growth YoY due to team decisions that we have made. It is an exciting time to be at Planet where Microsoft awarded us the Cloud Partner of the Year for Government in 2016. We do our best to communicate on a very regular basis but can always be better and will continue to work hard to do so. Best wishes to you in your future.

Pros

Compensation is suitable and competitive compared to other similar firms. A tiny bit of training is offered when initially hired, but not much.

Cons

This company operates with a SERIOUS accountability problem that is fostered by leadership. There is little to no enforcement of procedures, for the very few that exist, except for the fact that quite a bit falls onto the PMO group. Leadership has a “good ol” boy culture which means that one of the problem-solving techniques actively leveraged is to blame everyone else, including the client, when things go wrong or could potentially go wrong. Yes, that’s right - even if a potential problem is presented, leadership will take the position of blaming others rather than working to consider recommendations or take steps to mitigate the risk. One of the ways the company confidently skirts accountability is to decline to create or document policies and procedures. The primary best practice is to shift responsibility by declining to define a clear division of duties. The best practice is to get it signed, then let Delivery deal with it later. The culture chips away at morale and discourages people from speaking up. Bringing up potential problems or even asking asking questions can be seen as an attack and is met with defensive juvenile responses. Benefits and PTO are average or below average.

Sorry things did not work out for you. I am not sure how to respond beyond our first client 25 years ago continues to be a client still today. In a very recent independent survey, we were selected Great Places to Work as voted on anonymously by our Planet team. However, we always continue to strive to be better.
